Tiny Humans

As I probably have said before, my roommates and I want to steal babies. All the time. And usually they are ethnic babies. Black. Asian. Blasian. You name it, we've called dibs. It's not as creepy as it sounds. Promise.

(Surprisingly this came from last year, and I got to throughly enjoy Abby's and my friendship while I searched for this gem in the Facebook Archives.)

I recently got the best job in the whole world. Yup, I'm babysitting for an adorable little girl from Vietnam. She is the coolest four year old I know. Seriously, the first time I met her she was wearing a sparkly shirt with a cupcake on it.

Last week she reminded me of the best invention ever. Easy Bake Oven. It's actually amazing how a little lightbulb can make such delicious treats. Of course she was only interested in it for about ten minutes, then proceeded to just play with the bowls and measuring spoons in the sink, but I was loving it. They give you pink sprinkles and icing! Of course it reminded me of when Buddy bakes an Easy Bake Oven cake on Cake Boss, and I was about a gazillion times less skilled than him with the mini-cakes.

Also on the topic of babies, Abby has become the first one of my friends to be disqualified as a contender for Teen Moms. Happy Birthday!, but for really, personally I think between 4 of us we could take care of a baby, one of us is always home. I say go for it Abby, now that you are 20, it isn't looked down upon anymore, right? Now all you have to do is change your race and it will be perfect. We have the ball-pit, I'm thinking it would be a great crib. Great!

Also random, I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy and was so sad that Arizona left the show, I want to remember my favorite moment from her. She always has those type of speeches that give you the chills. That is why I love her. Well, not in the lesbian way that Callie does, of course.

"Okay. I know this is the first time on a Peds rotation for some of you not for others. But I wanted you to understand that I run my Peds unit a little differently. This is not general surgery in miniature. These are tiny humans. These are children. They believe in magic, they play pretend, there is fairy dust in their IV bags and they cross their fingers and they make wishes and that makes them more resilient than adults. They recover faster, survive worse. they believe. In Peds, we have miracles and magic and in Peds, anything is possible."

P.S. I think I probably shouldn't have watched Babies again about a week ago, it gives me crazy ideas.
